Football News: England Win!!

Rule Britannia!

While their namesakes have struggled in South Africa, there has been no stopping Room 1′s England football team as they have taken out the Sport’s Education football tournament. The sports ed. programme has involved students taking on multiple roles including coaching, managing, officiating and selecting as the different countries prepared to play in a mini world cup. England won an exciting final 2-1 over New Zealand in front of a large crowd of parent supporters. Brazil narrowly edged out Chile for 3rd place.

New Zealand line up for the national anthems.

Electives

Woodwork with Mrs Hattton

Our electives programme is in full swing once again, with a talented team of tutors presenting programmes as diverse as digital photography and hairdressing. Thank you to all of the parents who have given up their time to share their expertise with our students.

Fire, Fire!

Trainee Firefighters!

Today’s regular fire drill was certainly one to remember. We had arranged for a fire engine to leave Cambridge at the same time as we sounded our fire alarm. Our students were surprised to see the fire truck arrive at the school a few minutes later with sirens sounding and lights flashing.  The fire officers spent some time with the students reinforcing fire safety messages before allowing everyone to clamber on board the engine and use the hoses and fire extinguishers to deal to imaginery fires. we would like to thank the fantastic Cambridge crew of Bruce, Richard, Ian and Glenn for giving our students such a memorable morning!

Equine Education Day

Charlotte takes the lead!

We visited the Cambridge Raceway to take part in the Equine Education Day. Our students learned about the important role that racing plays in Cambridge and got to try out a wide range of learning activities related to horses and horse racing. We would like to thank Cambridge Raceway for putting on the event.

Book Week 2010

Mrs Comer a.k.a. The Mad Hatter!!

Book Week 2010 has been an outstanding success. Today we enjoyed a memorable book character day featuring a mind boggling array of characters. Our students (and staff!) had put a huge amount of effort into developing a character and finding out a little about who they were playing.

Cam as French detective Hercule Peroit

We had a fantastic number of parent supporters who came along to see the characters and to share a book or two. Thank you to everyone who purchased a book and donated it to the library.

We had wonderful parent support!
