Karapiro School makes the news (well the weather!)

Bright eyed and bushy tailed at dawn.

This morning over fifty of our students enjoyed being part of TVNZ’s breakfast show at Lake Karapiro with weather presenter Tamati Coffey. We arrived shortly after 6 am and took part in five live segments broadcasting the weather to the nation. In between crosses there was the opportunity to watch various water craft in action on the lake, enjoy a hot milo or three and spend time with Tamati. It was a VERY exciting way to start the day!!

You can check out our fiifteen minutes of fame by clicking here to see the TVNZ recording of the segment.

We go live to the nation!!

Welcome Back!

We were well represented at the opening of the maginificent Don Rowland’s centre on the shores of Lake Karapiro. We played a DVD featuring scenes from our school, provided an art station, shared some Jump Jam moves and played maths games with the visitors to the centre! Thank you to everyone who came along to help.

Jeff and Craig add the finishing touches to the retaining wall.

We also had a busy working bee at school, replacing a retaining wall, installing new drainage and adding new metal to the driveway. Farewell Amy

Awesome Amy: A 'magic' teachers' aide!

Tomorrow we say farewell to our terrific teacher aide Amy. We would like to thank Amy for all that she has done for the school over the past few years and wish her and Kelly all the best as the birth of their new daughter approaches! From next term Mrs Hatton will take over Amy’s teacher aide duties.

Electives Experts!

Talented tutors: Our fantastic electives leaders.

We would like to thank the amazing group of tutors who led another excellent electives programme. Our students benefit SO much from your time, enthusiam and expertise. The opportunities that you have provided are ones that we would struggle to deliver as part of our regular learning programmes.
